At least not for a Caldecott, it's just not "The One."

Things just didn't seem quite right. I loved the connection that Stillwater facilitated with Miss Whitaker and Michael. The story of his success reminds me why I want to be a teacher. I really liked the picture of the children, Stillwater, and Koo at Miss Whitaker's for supper and Michael gives his ribbon to her. what a sweet, precious thing to do. The picture really captured the feelings and appreciation.Jessicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03245592544514254907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8093828844549988070.post-82544539063614458482009-01-08T20:24:00.000-05:002009-01-08T20:24:00.000-05:00I loved this story. Overall, I thought they were delightful and beautiful.

There was something about the 'jump on Stillwater' picture that made me feel peaceful and free. The one that comes to mind is the close-up of Stillwater laughing. It just doesn't seem right. How's that for my expansive use of art terms. Sorry.

The whole getting to know the neighbor seemed too rushed. And, where was the apple pie? Based on the text, I expected apple pie on the table. Perhaps it was in the oven baking?Teresahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01301519801801374508noreply@blogger.com
