Oh, David Shannon! Delightful! The illustrations in this book lead me to believe that he visited my house to sketch true toy clutter as he was researching. He captures overwhelming clutter so well!
I love his use of toys to create the word "toys" and the use of a jack as a period is perfect. What a fun book!
The big, colorful, detailed pictures make this book fun to look at, but the story isn’t anything special. It would be an alright book for a story time, but I personally wouldn’t do anything more with it.
