This is a charming story in and of itself, and the illustrations add to that charm! Do you see those flowers around the title? They show up again and again...on Chloe's dress, and on other scenes with Chloe. I can almost hear background music when I see those flowers!
This is just the sweetest story and the illustrations are sweet too. The end pages are beautiful and as Kris said the flowers on the end pages are on Chloe's dress. The illustrations are a definite plus to the story. To me what makes this story sweet all the way around is the kindness shown to others by all the characters. We need more picture books illustrating kindness. The illustrating technique for the books is unique too.
