The illustrations are cute but I am sorry to say the story itself makes me very uncomfortable. The age this book is written for don't really understand make believe and what is real. I wouldn't want my child to think it is ok to put live things in the washer or that you can sew animals' tails back on it they get cut off.
This is one of my favorite picture books this year. The illustrations are great and I love the story. I think most children's books are full of make believe and the kids love this one.
