The illustrations in "Building Manhattan" are breath taking. They are full double page illustrations and nothing is lost in the spine of the book either. The paint was applied thinly so that the texture of the canvas shows thus giving each illustration a neat look. A wide range of visual styles are used too. I just love everything about the illustrations in this picture book. "Building Manhattan" certainly deserves some special recognition.

I thought this book was interesting, and the illustrations are definitely eye-catching. Lots of color and texture. Many of the illustrations have an interesting perspective, I especially like the skyscrapers, I felt dizzy looking up at the sky, just as I would if I were really in Manhattan.
